Eat your heart out

f
o
Emm saw this and wanted this yummy recipe in the Family Fun Mag.
So I did it.
3(3-ounce) packages of red flavored gelatin
1(14-ounce) can of sweetened condensed milk
2(1/4-ounce) envelopes of unflavored gelatin

1 Dissolve one package of flavored gelatin in 3/4 cup boiling water. Add 3/4 cup cold water then pour the mixture into a 9x13 inch glass pan and refrigerate for an 1hour.
2. Stir together 1/2cup boiling water and the condensed milk. In a seeparate bowl, dissolve all the unflavored gelatin in 1/2 cup cold water for 1 to 2 minutes. Thoroughly mix in 3/4 cup boiling water, then combine this mixture with the milk and let it cool. Add half the mixture to the pan of red gelatin, pouring it over a spatula to slow the stream and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
3. Continue alternating layers gelatin mix, the remaining milk mix, the final gelatin mix -chilling each for 20 to 30 minutes to set it . Create individual servings with a heart shaped cuter.

I would suggest to buy the 3 ounce box and not buy the big box and try to split it in half. Also boil water probably not in the microwave. These were the 2 mistakes I made. So the bottom layer did not set up to great. The cream of milk was the best.
The kids like it. But it did not set up to great to cut it very well. But we all love jello so it was eaten up very fast.

Pummelo

This beautiful fruit came in our basket from Bountiful basket. Which I am glad that it did. I would have probably never have bought it myself. I actually had to look it up on the computer to see what it was and how to eat it.
The computer said it is a cousin to the grapefruit but that it is sweeter. Which is true you do not even need sugar with it. Emma enjoyed a half with me. But I was glad that I was introduced to a new fruit.

Exercise

I found a program that I like quite a bit and that is the wii fit plus. I love the yoga and the strenth exercises. Plus I love the new feature of the combination of different exercise. It really puts me into a sweat. Plus I love having fun. I don't really like the body tests. Somedays I am a very old lady. Which I do not like at all which brings me back to do it all over again. So this is what I do.

Chicken And Rice Casserole

Chicken and Rice Casserole
From Tamara Robinson. Got to love ward cookbooks. Sorry no picture.
Mix together rice, soup and water; pour into a 9x13 inch pan. Sprikle dry onion soup mix over rice mixture. Cut up one chicken lay skin side down in rice mixture. Sprinkle with onion soup mix. Bake at 375* for 2 hours, covered with foil. The last 10 miutes take the foil ovf You may use boneless, skinless chicken breast or precooked chicken. If using pecooked chicken , decreae the cookng time and bake long enough for the rice to be tender.

We had this for Sunday dinner. It was good. I think if I thought ahead I could have put it in my crockpot. The boys especially liked the rice. And it makes the house smell so good. So I will be making this recipe again.

The Shack

I found this book at my Mom's house over the summer. We are going to be reading this book next month for book club so I thought I would read it and then pass it around so that the othes could read it. At first when I read the cover I was not to excited. Then I really got into it. You can go to theshack.com. For more information. For me it is so nice to have the knowledge that I have this made me think of my own believes and how powerful they are in my own life. I love books that talk about God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost that they are seperate beings but all have one purpose. I love that they are here for each one of us. And how much they love us. The book is well written and makes you think. And makes you want to hug your children more and do what you are supposed to be doing. A great read. I recommend it to all.

So I want to play the guitar

I have been taking lessons for just over a month. And it is a lot harder than I thought it was going to be to move my fingers around like this. But I really want to do this. So I have been practising more each day. So if you do no see me with long fingernails this is the reason why. But I sure am starting to enjoy it more. I think with more practise I will get it. The f chord so far is the hardest. Not quite used to that one yet. Better get practising.

MeatLoaf Groundhog style

I saw this great idea. And thought I think I can do this. I have not made meatloaf forever for my family. Because my mother's is so excellent. But I wanted to try to make it again. I even had to look for a recipe for it on-line. Emma thought it looked like a teddy bear. But everyone thought it was funny. We had a good dinner for a tuesday night.
