The Boy in the Striped Pyjams

This is our book for book club for January. It was a good book. It made me think about my 9 year old boy and how much he knows or does not know. The book I thought was well written. So if you need a quick and good book to read.

Week 48,49,50

Worked on some more of project 365. This has been such a fun project. That I want to carry it on to the next year. But I want to do more journaling with the pictures. I also added the month of November. I already love loooking back to see what we did through out the year. I love when people come up with great ideas.

Go to Arizona

In-N-Out
Chucky Cheese

Phoenex Zoo

The Gore home

Hungry children

Mesa Temple

Being with Grandma & Papa

We had a great time in Arizona. We loved going to see the Gore family in thier new house. We loved also seeing Grandma and Papa. We loved going to the Zoo and to Chucky Cheese and to see the Capitol building and to see the Mesa Temple it was so pretty at night. It took a long time to get there and even longer to get home but we loved seeing family. I know Jonathan would like to go back during Spring Training. We also loved just being in the Gore family watching movies and letting the kids get to know each other again and just being together as family eating good food and having a relaxing time. It was so great to see Ramona being baptized. Jacob and Sasha got along so well together. We also got to go another In-N-Out.

A BYU room

Since we do our watching of Cougars downstairs. I thought it would be fun to make this room work. Sarah suggested since I have a cricut I should cut some letters. So I used a fun font. I got it ready to go and Kourtney my good friend came over and put the letters up. They are formed like a football. More should be happening around Christmas. So I will take more pictures after Christmas. Thanks Nana for the blanket it will go great for our room. Also the Christmas pillows will come down I am sure after the kids get home from school.

Grandma's Murray Fudge

Where we worked. The tools.
The ingredients.
Stirring before hand.
The famous fudge.

Well I think I have done this recipe before. But it is always to go to help Grandma with her Christmas Fudge. Plus this counts for a new recipe for the week. Since we will be going to AZ. I just don't have time to cook. I learned and listened today. She has some of the same pans that she had when I was little. We had a good time together. I even chopped nuts with a knife. She says the chopper chops them to fine. I did my first batch with her telling me step by step instructions. The 2nd batch I did while she was out to eat. So I hope both batches set up. A few little tastes that I tasted . So by the time she got home everything was all cleaned up. I was glad to relearn how to make her famous fudge.

The Christmas Sweater

I just got done reading a great book that my mother suggested. I was to read it for my Book Club that was on Thursday. At that point I was on page 7. But yesterday. I got a few minutes to read and that is what I did. And I finshed the whole book.
I love when books move you to be better people. I have had such an awful attitude about everything. That I felt just like the boy in the story. Really forgeting the meaning of Christmas and about the people that love me.
I love the line in the book where it say" sometimes we get so entangled in life that we miss the obvious." Another one is " There's a part that thinks and there's a part that feels."

What a wake up call to me. It was very fitting since I have to speak in church tomorrow. So I am going to try not to worry and be so upset. It is a time of gladness and to feel the spirit of Christ. Which why we are all here.

Goal 66 Service

Goal 66 is an ongoing goal. But I wanted to tell you a story. The kids got an empty plate picture from the talk from Pres. Monson the story about the Father that would ask each of his children what they have done for any one that day. So I challenged my kids and myself to do this. And monday morning Sister Cox called and asked if I could help with activity day project with the girls. So we meet up at Robert's Craft and we looked around the store for a good project the girls could do . The store had star that said Believe on it. I said I could make the Believe on my cricut. We found some stars. Well the lettering had to be very small. I had to use my computer cricut and after a while it worked. After several hours the words were cut. I took them to the girls and they were able to paint and put the letters on and curl the wire. It was great to help the girls out for the activity day project that they will be handing out in a week. It is always great to do service.

Goal 3

I made Peanut Butter Bars.

They were so good. And I am not a person that usually eats Peanutbutter. I got the recipe from the little book Smith's sends out. I made this for our ward party. I ended up taking the picture after we brought the rest home. Which made me have another look at peanutbutter bars. Yummy.
So for this week I made Cherry Cinnamon jello. Sorry no picture. I was very easy you melt cinnamon candy's down in 3 cups of water then you put 3 boxes of cherry jello and when that is all disolved you put 2 cans of applesauce in it and stir and then put it in a pan and then when it is set you put whipping cream on it. It is very yummy.
