Rootbeer Cookies

I got this recipe in the taste of home best cookies. I hade some of these cookies up at Greg homecoming. So I thought I would try them. But these were not the same ones. So I took them up to the church when we did service and to Amy for her Birthday. They were good. I think we will try these again.

Service

We had the chance to help clean up the church. We have done this many times. But now more families come with us and then we clean the whole building for the month and then have a break for 2 months. We had a good time here is Emma with the Messer girls they love to mop. They had a good time. And where great helpers.

Tonight Date

Jand I went to Golden Spoon it is new in town . We both had a mango tart. It was so good. Before I had to try a few different flavors. It is always so good to go out with my sweet husband. I am so grateful for how good he is to me.

Cinnamon Roll Cake

Once again a new recipe from the girl who ate everything. This was so yummy and good. The kids loved it and even the hometeachers loved it. I love when I found good things that the kids will eat and love. Yes we found a keeper. We will have to make this some more.

Saturday Day Date

After going to the temple. J and I had lunch at Redlobster which was so yummy and good. I just love going to yummy places to eat. We had a great time together and then we went over to Eddie Bauer outlet. J has found that he loves these jeans for work. And he needs some new jeans. I tried on a few outfits myself. As we were leaving I saw some jeans hanging outside for $10.00 I thought no they must be in the wrong place but hey I am going to go try them on. And sure enough they fit and they were just $10.00 so I got a brand new pair of jeans two. Got to love that kind of date. J and I had a great talk on the way home. I am so blessed to marry such a great man.

Chicken and Spinach in Shells

I got this recipe from the Girl who ate everything. My sister Sarah found this blog so I thought I would give her a try. This receipe actually came from Paula Deen. I grabbed the picture of the girl who ate everything. Because I could not find my camera. Everyone liked this except for Jacob. So I do not think that we will have it that often. It was very rich. But very good. I am glad they were all willing to give it a try. The only long part was putting the stuff in the shells because I did not to want to wait any longer. The family was getting hungry.

Date Night

J and I were able to go to Stake Conference which we went with the Kastances. I loved all the talks. Sister Whitter spoke and Sister Einfeldt talked about Family history and Sister Winn spoke about temples and being sealed with her family and Pres. Whitter spoke how important it is to go to the temple. It was a great night sessions. I always learn something new and have a great feeling at this meeting.

Afterwards we meet up with the Mcdonalds and Sister Grover and went to J new place. Denny's. I had biscuits and gravy and a big chocolate cake. It was great fun. We usually only ask those people that go this session to go with us. We asked a few more people but they were to tired to go. But we had a good time with the people that came with us. I am glad that people are willing to come and share thier feelings.

Reading

Drew has had a hard time reading latley by himself. So I made it a point to read with him this week. And the book he had to read was the Best Christmas Pageant ever. We had a good time reading this book together. I even cried at the end. I forgot how funny and simple this book really is. Drew was glad that he knows about the Christmas Story. I think he is even more glad that he has a family that cares about him. And that we teach him right from wrong. He does get himself into trouble with Jacob but he knows how much we love him. This was a great thing for Drew and I to do together. I think the next book he is going to bring home is Red Badge of Courage I hope he lets me read this with him.

Going on a date

Jonathan and I went on a date night with the Kastanes and the Burrs. We had a good time. We went to Denny's. We had never been to the one in Cedar City before. The service was good. And the friends and being with Jonthan was the best part.

Temple Date St. George Temple

(picture from the church website)
I was so happy to go this beautiful place. It was so nice to have my mother in town so she could watch the kids. I have been wanting to go for such a long time. But other things just seem to get in the way. We were going to go in August we even planned on having a babysitter. And then the babysitter mom called and told us the temple was closed that week for its annual cleaning time.
We were once again reminded to go to the temple in our Stake Conference. So it was a beautiful time to go and we actually went. We were even asked to be the witness couple. In 13 years of marriage we have never done this. So it was a great honor. I love J so much he is such a blessing in my life. I am so glad that we can go to the temple together. What a beautiful day to be in the temple.

More Books I read

The glass castle book. Drove me crazy.

What a difference we can make in the lives of others.

Forever Me

You will not find this book at any store. Because it is about my sweet wonderful daughter. She wrote it and it is about her life. She did this while she was in the 6th grade. It is just so Emma and I love it. It has pictures and stories about her life. I am so glad that she made this. It is so great and I loved that I read it. I read it on the 2nd day of school starting. I was missing all of the kids being at home. But I love that they have the chance to learn new things this year. By far the best book I have ever read.

When Crickets Cry

This was such a good book. I loved it. I just love when you can get into a book and not put it down. It is about a man and a woman and a little girl. It is how these lives are put together. The author did such a great job with sharing this story. I loved learning about the boats and about hearts. I would really reccomend reading this book.

She is such a good girl I am so very blessed that she is in my life.

Make a new recipe

Sorry no pictures,
When we went camping. I have never really cooked all the dinner by myself in a dutch oven. I cooked. Potatoes with onions and bacon. Also chicken with italian dressing and bacon and onions. They were delicious. The only problem was that the coals from Sam's Club took forever to be ready. So I would suggest never to buy these coals.

Labor Day Camping

All the kids with Nana.

The girls.

This was the name of our group site. We actually were in the North Campground for Panguitch Lake.

My cute family.

The boys.
This year we were in charge. I do not know why we waited so long but we did. So we found that Panguitch Lake had a group spot left. So that is where we went. We went fishing, 4-wheeling. We read books. Had yummy food. We went on a hike. And even bought a new tent. Last year. Our zipper broke on our tent. This year Kate, Afton and Emma even had thier own little tent. We even brought the dog. She was actually pretty good. She was a great watch dog. It was just so nice to be with our family. The kids got along so well. I just love when the all get together and play so nice with each other. Drew even worked on his scouts with Jonathan. We were blessed with only wind. No rain. But the wind was very cold. I love that we are about to have fall. Overall this camping trip was a great success.
